Artist’s Palette

Another one of the famous parts in Death Valley National Park, this is Artist’s Palette, found along the 16km-long Artist’s Drive on the edge of Death Valley and the Black Mountains. It is noted for its variety of rock colours, which are the result of oxidation of several metals (like iron, mica, and manganese). Two other photos, both taken from parking lots along the Artist’s Drive can be found in the WS (WS I and WS II).
