A view across the boardwalk of Worthing Pier in West Sussex, England. The pier dates from the early 1860's and is a UK Grade II listed building. Disastrously a fire in September 1933 destroyed the original pier and all but the northern end pavilion. However in 1935 the structure was rebuilt and remodelled, and that is what remains today.

Very interesting composition here. I like blue tones of the sky and the sea and playing light and shadow.

What a splendid graphical composition with all these interesting shapes nicely placed in relation to one another. That clear blue sky makes a great backdrop for the geometrics. Fascinating work, very well done.

This is a superby elegant composition, aided by its simplicity. But elegance and simplicity aren't simple to execute. I notice especially how you have been very careful to make the sea's horizon lie exactly behind the top rail of the distant railings - very, very astute indeed as this obviates any confusion which the eye might have at this point.
The solitary lamp lies perfectly in both the frame of the doorway and the frame of the photograph. The simple bold colours and strong contrasts make this a very appealing photograph.

Hi Brian, Nice architectural shot with an interesting POV, and good use of floor lines, well timed as shadow form a nice foreground.

You show that less is more.
The opening of the door (is it a door?)creates
a nice depth to the lantern, this is reinforced
by the diagonal wooden planks.
The vertical lines in this picture are the
most important, more important than the horzion.
To avoid any discussion, you have the horizon
cleverly hidden behind the fence (good point
Summarized: beautiful picture and very well
thought about the picture.
Friendly regards and have a nice weekend,

the vertical presentation suits the tall lampost well, i'd also like to see a horizontal view.
i think the white and black panels offer a tremendous contrast to the sky, and obviously go with the lamp and the railing in behind.
love all the lines, including the planks along the bottom. interesting take
have a great one

You have made a great photo out of simple components here. There is a pleasing symmetry to the photo, and the big black frame gives it some extra impact.

looks like a symbolic composition for me... the invitation to enter the passage to see the lamp at the end of the world...
Light and shadow are equally strong; minimalistic forms, well caught.
