Photographer's Note
Ragusa-Ibla is one of the most picturesque cities in Sicily. The view from the upper town on Ragusa Ibla on its own separate hill is quite impressive. It is one of the UNESCO baroque cities of southeastern Sicily.
Ragusa is located in Monti Iblei, a large area of elevated land, divided by dry stone walls and incised with ravines. The city was originally built on a small hill with steep slopes with deep valleys on three sides that separate it from the high plateau.
After the earthquake of 1693, which destroyed many of the buildings in southeastern Sicily, it was decided to rebuild Ragusa on a higher and flatter terrain nearby. This new planned city was built, with straight streets and a rational design, but the local aristocrats did not want to move, and in their place new palaces were built on the ruins of the old city.
So today, Ragusa has two parts: Ibla (or Ragusa Ibla), the oldest nucleus on its summit, and Ragusa Superiore, the most modern high city that stretches from the streets after the earthquake to more recent developments.
----------------------------------------------------

Hello Luis,
A good close-up capture from the streets of the old town. The composition is good and well-balanced and we get a good look at the old walls, the weather-beaten door frame and the balcony at left. The textures are clearly seen.

Hello Luis,
Most tourists would probably not take a photo like this, but you have a photographic sense that is not shared by everyone. You see the strange beauty that can be found in decay, where the textures of the materials of a building become more obvious and a collapsed wall and broken window recall the beauty of ancient ruins. The big white rock on the window sill is like an abstract sculpture. You used the surrounding elements to crop this photo nicely and captured it all with a perfect exposure.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Luis,
This UNESCO baroque city can use a makeover.
Although the house on the left looks better.
Yet such a dilapidated façade often has a special beauty. The rain pipe on the right is a special detail.
Excellent work
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Bonjour, cher Luis,

Hello Luis, a well observed corner showing this derelict building. I find all the textures and subtle colours very attractive. The green shrub adds extra colour and texture.
A interesting note too.
Regards Jean.

Hola Luis,
Contrast between the modern balcony on left to the delipidated house is immediately noticed.
The wooden shutters already falling apart and stones do not endured time past.
pity, yet altogether a nice taken the daily life scene from that place.
Buen fin de semana,
Ike

Hello Luis,
Some buildings in the beautiful Ragusa Ibla have indeed been neglected. Plants seem to grow everywhere on this wall and inside the house too.
Too bad because Ragusa Ibla is really a wonderful museum town.
Excellent clear and sharp capture!
Best regards, Paul

Hi Luis
Choosing this angle to take this was just what it needed; old as nature is slowly taking over and ravaged no doubt but always appeals to us photographers doesn't it!? But wonder what tales this could tell, inclusion green plant is a great ideas. Excellent shot, Congrats
Best regards
