Photographer's Note

This is Roussanou Monastery, also know as Agias Varvaras Monastery. You have probably seen this monastery again, but from the opposite angle showing it purced up on a narrow vertical cliff, conected with the other rocks with a small bridge. I chose to upload this one, because it's quite unusual view of this monastery. Photo was taken from the road that goes to Agia Triada Monastery. I used my 70-200 lens and a 2X extender, so the real focal lenght is 288mm.

It was established (probably) around 1388 by the monks Necodemus and Benedict. Today functions as a nunnery. Open daily, except Wednesday, from 09:00-14:00 (winter) and 09:00-18:00 (summer).
