Photographer's Note

The Central Library in downtown Vancouver is a wonderful building to look at. It was designed by architects selected on the basis of an open competition, and cost over CA$100m to build. The views of the inside are every bit as impressive, but I'll be posting pictures of them later. Incidentally, the library isn't just a pretty building to look at - it's exceptionally well stocked, with a huge music collection, all free to borrow.

As far as the technical elements to this shot:
Light was low, so I rested the camera on one of those newspaper vending boxes. I had to correct diverging verticals in photoshop (and then crop), and did some levels correction and saturation enhancement to make it look more like it did at the time.
