Kaleköy - the ancient Simena opposite Kekova island.
A place, inhabited since more than 2000 years, gives proof of a settlement through the ages.
The house was grounded on solid rock, perfectly cut out; orthogonal blocks were inserted as a frame for a door.
In a later periode, the door was walled up, maybe as a kind of protection, to have less of entrances to protect.
More secure times came (I presume), so a window was installed, a bit carelessly as you will remark.
Still part of a house in our days!

Hi Knut, without the note the photo would not be that attractive, but with it you can follow the story keeping an eye on the photo and yes you can perfectly follow the evolution over ages. Still the photo is not bad, I like there the level of detail and the colors.

There is an "Kayaköy" close to Marmaris Knut. Very similar to this one. All the details are seen clearly. The texture of the wall looks amazing. Management of the light and the shadows is very very good in this shot. Very sharp as well. Good job Knut. Thanks for sharing...
