Photographer's Note
Ancient Roman Theatre at Bosra (Busra ash Sham)
The original Busra was a Nabatean capital of the northern end of that empire. The Romans captured it and the rest of the empire in the second century AD. 80,000 inhabitants and a great urban design with baths and gardens, colonnades and underground markets has the capital of the Roman province Arabia. Greatly planned and from hard basalt establishes for the eternity.
15 to 20 thousand spectators had place at the Roman Theatre and from upper ranks a far view to the fruitful country of the landscape Hauran. The Roman theatre was developed in 12th century to a Arab fortress.
Bosra is an archaeological and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hello Achim,
A very good and beautiful presentation of the famous Roman Theatre in Bosra, a place I visited more than 20 years ago.
You've chosen a great POV to show us as much as possible of the theatre and from here we can also see clearly how very steep the places for the spectators rise up from the theatre scene.
Best wishes for a happy New Year for you and your family,
Paul
