Photographer’s Note
There are so many fine pictures on TE of the magnificent architectural remains in Petra, so I prefer to show that there is also some very fine art created by nature itself. This is one of the rocks I found. It's hard to tell the dimensions of this, from top to bottom maybe two or three metres.

A not everyday's photo and at the first glance a real eyecatcher. In combination with your note it becomes an interesting picture. The "pattern" of the stones and the different minerals is incredible! Great!

I like nature art,and this is a great one.
I feel there are two faces. The left one,the lateal one, faces toward the right side,and the central one,has a big mouth, faces straight ahead.What do you think?

Hi Gert,
I recognize the fantastic nuances of Petra rocks!
Probably is the scanner setting, but it seems a little bit out of focus, and with a little too much contrast (the scanner again, I fear).
The original slide must be an excellent shot: could you try to re-scan this one?

thanks for the feeling of dizziness that give your photography : looking it without reading you, we can't know at all the scale : millimeters, meters, kilometers ?
also the turbulent interweaving of colors enforce this sensation.
