Photographer's Note

The Romans loved baths. They so much loved baths, that in Masada you will find a most sophisticated water channeling that takes the water from it's sources at the mountain base all the way up to the top of the mountain. In Masada there are two locations were baths were built, this one was taken near the western palace. What you see here is a bath (not so different from the modern bath in concept) and also the staircase that lead down to the water hole - I am not sure why at this location there were two different bathing solutions, but I guess they had quite a line of waiting people on those hot hot august days...
