Photographer's Note

Tile decoration in Iran dates back to centuries ago. The first glazed facade decorations were found in Susa belonging to at least 3000 years ago. Eversince tile, glazes bricks, were used to decorate Iranian buildings. The most interesting and elegant ones could be found in Esfahan, Central Iran, where most of the anciant buildings have these decorations. Such decorations are found in other parts of Iran too. Each have its own colour and design. The old and ancient one I captures in Khoy, East Azarbaijan is beautifully designed and coloured.
