[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
Durdle Door is a limestone rock formation on the Dorset coastline, close to the village of Lulworth.

The walk up from Lulworth itself was strenuous but not too difficult, and the view was incredible! In the distance you can see the Bill Of Portland.

I took several shots here, this was my favourite one. I cropped a bit off the top because the sky got a little burnt out, even though I underexposed by 1/3 of a stop. I really liked the shadow cast by the arch itself though.

Hey Peter, really good POV that givs such a fantastic vi on the beach and sea. The shadow is superb, it clearly shows the opening and shape of the cliff. One thing about the person, I would love to see him in the sun and out of the shadows where not only would he/she be more visible but you would also get a nice long shadow from him/her too.

hello Peter

have a nice day Peter

That's the annoying thing - the same sun that over-exposed your sky is the one that provided the excellent long shadows of the arch. You had an excellent POV looking down on the curved shore and the inclusion of the person gives the scale.

Hi Peter,
One can never tire of viewing different angles and shots of this magnificent geological wonder. I like the shadow effects here, and the bubbling white surf pounding through the gap. The lighting is superb and there is good clarity of detail. Well captured, Peter. It looks as good in November as it did in May...

Bonjour Peter,
haha, cela ressemble à mes post !
très bel nagle de vue, la courbe de la plage est excellente.
Dommage qu'il y ait autant d'ombre, ça aurait été encore mieux :)

Ooh I see you made a little excursion to dorset, what a fine view isn't it?, and you had a lot less haze and swimmers than I did, the shadow also works well, the bright sky is really unavoidable in south facing landscapes, especially this time of the year.

Hi Peter,
Splendid view from this so high POV, which offers us the panoramic one with a very broad angle.
The rocky formation of this cliff with the great hole is spectacular, and the light of the Sun plays with her giving us one beautiful and long shades.
A perfect picture, well done.
Regards,
Josep

I like the timing of this shot a lot. The long shadow is the definitive proof of either early morning or late afternoon. That single person contributes a lot for clarification of the arche's size.
Kind regards, Peter

Hi Peter,
you've made so many good pictures in the meantime... but I must start somewhere ;)))
I've choosen this one because of this wonderful geological phenomena and I like it so much... sh.. it would be nice if I could build a arch like this somewhere in my neighbourhood ;)))) Wonderful, magical picture. Beautiful composition with the captured shadow... I like it very much!
Have a nice day,
Tomi

PS: I have one idea... for the first try I'll make a paper model of an arch and I'll use it as a silhouette on some of my sunset pictures HAHAHAHAHAHA

Hi Peter, we have a place in france with such particular rocks, it's called etretat. Here light conditions where difficult but due to that you obtain a good shadow on sea, nice play with dark and light parts.
Good !
Be back
