another forgotten picture from my archive :
in 1970 I must have been amazed by a lady who was controlling parked cars, I think nearly 50 years ago I hadn't seen this before. I'm sure in the small town (compared with London) where I lived in 1970, there was no need for traffic wardens.

Gert Holmertz told me, that the Beatles song "Lovely Rita, meter maid" is about a traffic warden, so here some lines of the song:

.... Standing by a parking meter
When I caught a glimpse of Rita
Filling in a ticket in her little white book
In a cap she looked much older
And the bag across her shoulder
Made her look a little like a military man.....
