Salisbury Crags, a photo from Edinburgh, Scotland

Photographer's Note

Walking along the Salisbury-Crags, at times the trail is very close to its cliff-walls, as seen here on far left corner, but on some spots there are wider plateau where you may have a good view of the place.

There was one person stood on top, his figure gave good scale upon the rock.

The length of the cliff is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the cliff. The good luminmosity is giving nice tints to the colours. Have a nice day.

This is quite a different scene from the crags we see in the Middle East, the ground can't hide its moisture. Each area has its own particular beauty.

A great photo of this impressive, rough and steep rock with a nice mix of green tones in the vegetation in the foreground. I like the rather narrow frame and the single person on top of the rocks adds a great sense of scale.

Hello Ike,
I wouldn't say that the person is the most important element of this photo, but s(he) certainly plays a major role as a focal point and an indicator of size. I like very much the contrasts of the green and yellow tones on the ground and the brown rock, and also the rough pattern of the steep hillside.

this kind of rocks there are all around Greece and it is a 'cigarette route' to come from Israel to see them than to go in Edinburgh to see it.
I'm joking of course, this is a good presentation of Salisbury Crags with the man on the summit of it to creates scale in the image.Well done.

A very remarkable cliff face.
I suppose this is very challenging to climb to some people but most probably the person on the top has taken another way to get there.
The yellow leaves of the tree gave me first an impression this was a spring picture.

Hello Ike,

This photograph shows a tall, impressive rocky outcrop, the cracks and rocky textures are clearly captured and are easily compared with the lower grassy area and gorse bushes.
The inclusion of the small figure is very important because it immediately defines the scale of the cliff. I must admit, I did reasses the scale after I noticed the small figure.

Very nice rocky mountain. The inclusion of the man helps us understand how high the cliffs are. Very typical of England, and very beautiful. The lines on the rocks make nice drawings and attracts our attention. Nice job, congratulations!
