Photographer's Note

At this time of year many of the fields of England become a blaze of yellow as the annual crop of rapeseed (brassica napus) bursts into flower. This plant is a member of the mustard or cabbage family, and is grown for the vegetable oil (canola) derived from its seeds. This particular field is on the banks of the River Adur in West Sussex, England, and lay waiting for the gathering storm clouds to give it some much needed sustenance.
