Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while but I have been extremely busy and often without access to a computer.

Please click on this link for the photograph to be much bigger and clearer.

I know that this is not the best photograph in the world but I wanted to share it as I cannot imagine taking a similar one ever again.

Wrens made a nest in my husband's workshop! The nest was in a box that he needed so he carefully moved the nest to a higher shelf. The bird seemed quite unperturbed and shortly afterwards laid four eggs in it.

The eggs hatched and soon the parents were rapidly leaving and returning to feed their hungry babies. The gap into the workshop was incredibly tiny but the birds managed to negotiate it easily.

My photograph shows one of the young wrens the day that it left the nest. The next day, they had all gone. I still wonder how the parents managed to show the babies how to get out through the tiny gap!

This photograph still makes me smile, Bev :-)
