Photographer's Note

I was prompted to post this one because of the one from Wasdale this morning,it was taken at the same time as my Dads Mill (informal series), this is the other side of the small hill called Scafell Pike. Taken at the Roman fort on the sea ward side of Hardnott Pass ( Iam told it used to be the Roman punishment camp because of its exposed position.
the picture was taken out the back part wall down a sort of cliff face was a small flat grass area the left side is the cliff the right was a pillar split off from the face only 12inches / 30cm wide.
Adjustments to picture is in 2 parts,so heres what happened.
select the gap area with magic wand.
then apply to this area
saturation +11 lightness -6
brightness -6 contrast +13
then burntool at 25% to darken the area.
then inverse to select the cliff faces
saturation +6 lightness +3
brightnesss +3 contrast +10
then deselect and apply unsharpmask to the whole image
save to web 193.7K
