Photographer's Note

From hot Mali to cold Sweden. Here is a photo I took a couple of days ago at Medborgarplatsen (Citizen Place), the major square on Södermalm island in Stockholm, a few hundred meters from where I live.

Large parts of Europe are in the midst of a cold spell with a lot of snow, and Sweden is no exception. Last Tuesday the light was quite good so I planned to go for a long walk to look for nice photos. But the temperature was -12 °C and feeling much colder because of a fairly strong wind. It soon started to snow again, but before the light disappeared I managed a few photos of children having fun on this little hill. An alternative, wider view can be seen as a workshop. You can also find another photo taken a while earlier, before the light changed.

Because of the biting wind my long walk became much shorter than I had planned. After less than an hour I returned home with unusually rosy cheeks. ;-)

The map coordinates 59.31506 18.07246 show where I took these photos, give or take a few metres.

Here is a larger version of the main photo. All photos were taken with my little Canon Powershot G9X. No Kodachrome involved this time.
