Photographer's Note

The phenomena is the same as yesterday.

First the river froze at a higher level and then opened again in warmer weather. That is the snowcovered ice now a bit over the water level.

Then the water level went down some 15 cm or so and left the old ice on dry land.

Now the river is starting to form a thin crust of ice again. The new ice is still moving with the water as small flakes that gather in the little bay.

To take this picture I step down on tho old ice hangin in the air in a minibay of water. I thought I would have time to step aside if it started to crack. I was wrong!
