Photographer's Note

The vast majority of people who ever visited Gran Canaria would probably admit that the most interesting places are right in the centre. There are numerous ways to get to Pico de las Nieves from the south part of the island, but in our opinion the most picturesque is the one which goes through Baranco de Fataga. If you take this route from Playa del Ingles, just after 20 minutes you will come inevitably to the little charming village – Fataga. The surroundings are truly dreamlike, as the village is located in the Valley of Thousand Palms. The mountains, palm and fruit trees, grapes and loads of colourful flowers create an impression of the real oasis undisturbed in its life. It is believed that Fataga can trace its origin back for more than 2000 years and because of narrow lanes made out of stones and famous Canarian houses it has been quite characteristic village in the island. No wonder then that this place has become more than popular destination for a one-day trip in Gran Canaria. And we loved it indeed.
