Photographer's Note

Symbol of the public authority in the past, now symbol of Sighisoara, The Clock Tower (Town Hall Tower) is one of the most expressive architectural monuments of Transylvania.
On both facades of the tower there is a clock dial measuring 2.4m (7.87ft). Right next to these dials there are niches which contains symbolic figurines. These niches are 2.4m (7.87 ft) high and 1.8m (5.9 ft) wide. In the left-lower niche located on the Citadel’s facade one can see the Goddess of Peace, holding in her hands an olive branch and a trumpet, while in the right side one can see the little drummer holding in his right hand a hammer used to announce the quarter hours; in the central part there are two big figurines representing the Righteousness holding the scale and the blind-folded Justice with a risen sword.
