The sky is very nice but the best lies in these traditonal boats on the beach, so small on the picture but neverless sharply depicted. I would have like to seemore of them.

They painted 19th century sea and beach-sceneries very like your picture.

The ancient craft of fishing has always been a part of our country and it's nice to see that it's appreciated, their lives are so hard.

Very good wide angle photo. The enormity of the sky emphasises the smallness of humans and their efforts. A very appealing picture of traditional activity that has been well cropped and lightly post processed so it still looks natural. Thanks for great notes, too.

Hi Fernando,
sure this view which is a manificient one and correspond to my personal wish to see more about tradition from portugal with boats and life. I have a special affection for the seaside scenery you show here and I will make a parallel with some from my native place more in south of Britanny that I am living now, this you show, and a picture which is on a wall in my parents house..; This is the same impression of children and parents from the inland going on sundays to the seaside and playing around the fishermen boats on the sand and families having picnic in the shadow of the nets and boats.
The tableau you have built here is the same story and you have done well with a gran angle looking like and including the clouds the environment the fishermen, and the kids playing.

Hi Fernando. Dramatic proportions in this shot, with the huge sky dwarfing the men and their fishing boats. This seems to communicate something about the relationship of man to nature. The clouds are wonderful too.

Excellente composition qui m'a rappelé mon voyage au Portugal alors que j'étais enfant dans les années 50. Il y avait des boeufs qui tiraient les barques des pêcheurs pour les ramener sur la plage. Je crois que c'était à Nazaré. Les barques sont toujours peintes de couleurs vives et les pêcheurs sont de bons marins qui doivent passer la barre pour regagner la terre. La photo donne une grande importance au ciel qui est magnifique.

The lovely clouds are certainly the star in your compo. You've captured interesting details on the beach with the swoop ot the nets hanging over the boat and the tiny figures busily engaged in their work. I think Livia's critique describes especially well the feeling your composition conveys. And thank you, I do love the sea and boats. I lived on a sailboat for many years.

Gosto muito de todas as fotografias aqui apresentadas, tiradas em ângulos diferentes e com resultados excelentes. De facto, é uma grande homenagem ao mundo dos pescadores. Barcos tradicionais, sob este céu espectacular, oferecem capturas fantáticas. Quando vejo fotografias destas, volto a pensar nesta máquina (já tinha abandonado e ando a estudar compactas...). Excelente cenário apresentado pela actividade dos pescadores, num belo jogo de silhuetas. Parabéns também pela homenagem a mais dois membros deste site, o que é de facto de louvar!

Another well made shot F. with good use of the low horizon line. Also good to see in the ws some more details of this boats and fishermen as they are most interesting in the traditional work/fishing.
In this case I think also a bit closer to the subject had worked well.
