Santana is a town located in the northern part of the Madeira Islands, Portugal. The main sources of industry are agriculture and turism while a small number of businesses are in the downtown area. A large theme park is also located in the centre of this locality which includes some interesting facts about the island and its culture. Santana is famous for its traditional homes which the bungalow rooftops that are made out of straws extends down to the ground making it like a triangular house. It is mainly a rural house and farmers lived in these homes in the older times. These houses have a beautiful white wall with red doors and windows and blue edges. Most of these houses are a tourist attraction. The straw roofs are renovated every four to five years.
