Stepping on White & Back in Time

This guy was so deliberately crossing the road - stepping on the white bars as if the spaces in between would swallow him up – this image struck me as one which I might have seen if I’d come here twenty or so years before – I wish I had - to see how much things have changed and to better understand the contrast. It might have also connected me to understanding where the ‘real’ human colour existed in those communist times.

Just think of the contrast from yesterdays image – this is what I imagine the social change to have been in the order of – neither era perfect – but each distinctive in their own way – one in the maintenance of a particular social order, the other expansive with more unbridled development in the exploration for new and perhaps a less certain range of futures.

Both images taken on the same day with a mile or two of each other – still – as with all the other images so far in this series – on my first ever full day in Poland. It was a busy day – I could easily post a month of images here that interest me from that one day. We’ll see!

So many impressions and thoughts – Jerzy was surprised there were so many images! A bit like my day in London series – I never did finish posting that!

I'm very much enjoying having the opportunity to reflect on the interest I found in the city . After one week in Poland with Jerzy I felt like I'd been there for three!!

Working away a lot this week - so sorry in adavance if there aren't too many comments or replies from me.
