Photographer's Note

Another photo from a hike I've tried to describe
here.

I'm uploading this image not only because it was a good shoot. It symbolizes another aspect of that hike the photo was taken at for me.
Because the whole idea of the trip, where you walk with a crowd of 500 and more people, came from a legend of love.
The hike is called "On the paths of Radvilai" ("Radvilų keliais" in Lithuanian). Because Radvilai was a great family of nobles which once ruled the area.
The standart distance of the hike is 200 kilometres. It is so because once upon a time there was a son of this noble family, who had a wife and lived happily with her in Poland. Exacly 200 km away from the homeland.
When his wife died he was really sad and mourned for her all the way home, expressing his sorrow by walking all that way on his own foot behind the wagon of his beloved ladies coffin.

When I was walking the hike and remembered the legend I only asked myself, how could he do it with footwear of these times. His feet must had been in a real pain after all this.

Anyway, even if it isn't love of people in the picture, if this is love at all, I felt this could illustrate the legend.
