Photographer's Note

I should introduce you to a great hike I was at last week (if I won't be too lazy and you too commentless, I'll post more great pictures from there too). I've spent wonderful time there, met new friends, saw new places, took new photoes. In short, it is a hike of 200 km. One can choose walking 4 days 30/40/50 km each (that counts as 120, 160, 200) or walk 2 days 100km each. I've chosen 4*40, didn't die, I should try 50 next year. Well the facts are laid out at so you can browse further.

The pic is done at the sunshine time, I've heard easterns say that's the best time to "charge with energy of universe". Don't know if they are right, but I know it's a time of the greatest sceneries and spectacles. I feel bad for not having desire enough to wake up so early every morning, would be wonderful...
The landscape you see in the picture is quite special. The place is special itself. The district around could be called the cradle of Lithuania. There are lots of barrows (ancient burial-grounds), which are thousand or so years old. Archeologists still find remains of ancient villages, first wooden castles. Local people still remember lots of legends about great underground tunnels of escape, they oftenly claims seen bright wandering spirits, which sometimes are even few meters high.
This is the place where our history began, where you can still feel nature around, where you don't feel as conqueror of earth. I love when I don't feel as a possessor, but still, I feel being home.
At the end, I must admit. I see this photo as my best shot ever. More precicly, the most beatiful view I've managed to grab with a camera. That sounds like the same, but it isn't. Because this beauty isn't my merit. I didn't crop, didn't change color balance, only framed. If you know how could this become better, do it, I'd be glad to see it and learn because I don't know that now.

Finally, I'm just glad to live where I live, I hope you can all say the same!
