Photographer's Note

This is the last of my current lot from my Sicily revisit.
We could see this precariously situated castle on Mt Pellegrino in the distance over roof tops in Palermo from our apartment.
Out with my travel zoom which I rarely use.
After hunting around on the internet today I discovered that it was built as Utveggio Castle between 1928 and 1933. It is reached by a narrow and very steep road. It became known as "The Pink Madness", I guess for obvious reasons.
It started life as a luxury hotel and then became a casino. Today it is known as Cerisdi and is owned by a managament school.
Do check out the large version.
