Photographer's Note

It stands on a wooded hill from which it takes its name and is the most distant village from Amelia but also the most characteristic because it has almost completely preserved its appearance as a medieval village with its gates and towers. In the past it was the last bastion of Amelia to oppose the dominions of Todi; a few hundred meters in fact rise the ruins of the Castello di Canale, formerly owned by the powerful Chiaravalle family.
