Photographer's Note

There is this English saying:

“You can run but you can’t hide.”

I supposed it is so very suitable for Pompeii and the tragedy which happened there about 2000 years ago. Walking around the ruins one can imagine people trying to escape but eventually turned into stone by the erupting volcano. Interestingly we got a little taste of the drama. While visiting Pompeii, at certain point dark clouds arrived and it was clear that it will rain. People started to run hoping to hide from the approaching storm. The thunders were so very loud, it really felt as if the volcano was erupting and the people kept running. Finding a hide was a challenge since not many roofs were preserved.
