Photographer's Note

I was amazed by the Italian trees. It was the first image that caught my eyes when we entered Rome and then I enjoyed them everywhere. They are very well taken care of and most of them are really lean and very, very tall. I took this shot a couple of minutes after entering the archaeological site of Pompeii. There was a young woman sitting beneath a tree reading a book. I just loved the size contrast between the lady and the trees and also the sensation of peace the image transmitted me.

I reduced brightness, cropped the shot to get a more vertical format and resized.
