Photographer's Note

Because an illness forced me to stay at home, I avail myself of the opportunity to post a new photo.
This is again the Island of Asinara, in the north of Sardinia, formerly the site of a top security jail and now a natural park. This secluded bay is called Porto Mannu which in Sardinia language means large harbour. Probably it was used as a natural harbour in ancient times when the island was populated. Now it’s a very solitary place, wild and far away from any human settlement, where only the cries of the seagulls can be heard.
In the foreground of the photo you can see a curious bush which grows only in Sardinia: Centaurea Horrida, or “Fiordaliso spinoso” in Italian. The name refers to the fact that its leaves actually are prickly thorns. It looks so soft – like a pillow – from a distance, but if you touch it with your hand you’ll understand why it was called “Horrida” (horrible in Latin).
You can find a reference to it: Here

In the workshop I’ve posted the map with the itinerary of my hike in the south part of the island, where all the photos posted so far have been shot.
