Photographer's Note

This is the sight of Cala Sant’Andrea in the South part of the Island of Asinara. The photo is taken from the path which leads to the ruins of Castellaccio, a medieval castle built by Doria family. The buildings in the distance at right belong to the small settlement of Cala Reale where is the headquarter of the park and where the ferry from Porto Torres arrives.
This small island is really a world on its own where one can walk for miles without meeting any people and where nature was kept untouched and unspoilt for more than a century due to the presence of the security prison.
