Castelvecchio
The settlement of Castelvecchio rises on a ridge and, despite its name, does not present any traces of fortification. Its castle nature, certainly founded in the late medieval period (XIII-XIV centuries), as well as the toponym, is attested by its position, from which it dominates the landscape of the Campiano Valley and of the Valnerina and from the morphological characters of the nucleus.
The entrance doors located on the two larger sides correspond to the ancient routes for Corone to the south and for Saccovescio to the north, through the San Martino hill.
