Photographer's Note

This is the Gallerius Arch that the locals named it Kamara, in the center of Thessaloniki,
which is pretty close to Navarino Square. One of my favorite places!
I meet my friends there, drinking coffee and read my newspaper every Saturday
after shopping, especially records and books. From this place often I start
my long walks to the city taking photographs…

The Photographer

In this neighborhood
in these places
the photographer should
be expert, passionate
should be an artist, a craftsman
and know about beauty.

In this neighborhood
could I be a photographer
serve beauty
with art and passion.

If only the beautiful ones would come
with the common people
and would pose beautifully
standing straight and nicely
for twenty four hour
and weekly pictures.

A poem by Dinos Christianopoulos. (The “poet” of Thessaloniki)

Ένα ποiημα από τον Ντiνο Χριστιανόπουλο.
