Photographer's Note

Caretta caretta, the mediteranean turtle, is an endangered specie. Therefore the are strongly guarded on the greek island of Zakynthos.

On this beach, they are coming up from the sea, laying down their eggs, cocver them with sand, and dissapears into the sea agian. Therefore partys of the beach are closed down, it is not allowed to stay there after dark, and strictly forbidden to put down an umbrella in the sand.

But someone are showing fantasy and imagination. Why build sand-castles when you are on a beach like this? Why not let the caretta caretta just lie there, guarding it's kingdom?
