Photographer's Note

Close to the village Kampos in northwest Mani overlooks the castle of Zarnata. The foundations implies ancient Greek construction. The exact time of the erection remains undendified, although it should be round the ending of the 13th century A.D.At the year 1428 the castle passed to Konstantin Palaiologos, the last emperor of Byzantium. After the fall of the empire to the Turks it changed hands many times, finally liberated during the Greek revolution. The timing was perfect, fog had covered almost everything and climbing that hill was a hard thing to do,but the revealed landscape was unique!
