Photographer's Note
Monemvasia, called Gibraltar of Greece, is a huge rock rising from the sea off the coast of the Peloponnese, connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway.
From the village of Gefyra, located on the mainland, you can see a huge rock "thrown" into the sea.
It is impressive with steep cliffs over 300 meters high.
The name Monemvasia comes from the words "moni emvasis" which means single entrance. There is really only one gate leading to the fortified old town and a fortress on the top of the rock.

Hello Ryszard,
It would be a very sensible place to have a fortress, easy to defend, in olden times.
You have used the roadway as a very effective guide, directing us smoothly to what appears to be the car park. If the town is like many that we have visited in Greece, the streets are too narrow for cars, so they have to be parked outside and only lambrettas can negotiate the steep streets!
The scene is very nicely composed, the rocky island off-centre, sharply detailed and boasting well saturated colours.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ryszard,
The road drags me straight up to the big rock, which in some ways may resemble Gibraltar. I guess the similarities end here... probably no monkeys, no football teams and very few people living there. But it nevertheless looks very good and impressive in this clear and attractive photo.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Ryszard
I hope that you climbed up to the old fort - the views would be very impressive. Your view of the island is good as well, making good use of the leading line of the road.

Hello Ryszard,
The causeway creates depth and perspective for the composition and guides us toward the impressive rocky islet. I like the warm/cool colour contrasts and the nicely rendered textural details.

Hello Ryszard,
I've also visited Monemvasia. It's one of the most scenic places in the Peloponnesus.
And yes, the huge rock looks as imposing as the rock of Gibraltar.
I hope you crossed the bridge, visited the town and climbed the rock. It's really a most fascinating place.
Beautiful view with the long bridge leading to the peninsula with the huge rock.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ryszard,
Good sharpness and fantastic linear perspective added by the causeway leading the eye directly to the huge rock. The parked vehicles at the vp are well positioned and provide scale. Tfs!

Hi Ryszard
That's the causeway you mentioned in prev posting! It's a great choice of pov seems to grab the eye directly with wonderful emphasis on the long connector and the 'fortress island' Textures of the rocky formation and all the different colour tones, blue sky and sea make this a visually interesting sight and you have handled the lighting extremely well. Love to view!! Congrats
Best regards
