Photographer's Note

The Methoni castle is one of the most distinctive castles in Greece, built in the 13th century, in the past it served military functions and pilgrims who were traveling to the Holy Land.
The castle is located on a promontory with an area of about 93 acres, large numbers of people lived within its walls.
Now, inside the castle there are ruins of houses of Venetians ( Venetian rule: 1207 – 1500), ruins of a Turkish bath, the Byzantine church of Agia Sophia and the impressive Sea Gate located at the southern end of the promontory.

In my photo you can see the Sea Gate, in WS I have posted more photos from inside the castle .
