Photographer's Note

This monument in Samos depicts a right triangle, one side of which is the statue of Pythagoras, the great ancient Greek mathematician, mystic and scientist, known as "the father of numbers", but best known for the Pythagorean theorem, which bears his name (the square of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides).

(The full moon of August is just a coincidence...)
