Photographer's Note

Ioannina is the largest town of the Epirus region, in northern Greece. It is built at the banks of Pamvotida lake, where also lies the only habited island in a lake in Greece. This picture is a partial view of the Old Town of Ioannina, which is called Kastro (Castle), and is actually built within the walls of the old castle of the town. At the right part of the picture can be seen the Aslan mosque, a monument of the ottoman era of the town, now a museum of the Orthodox, Ottoman and Jewish heritage of Ioannina.
