Photographer's Note

Spili is a village of 600 inhabitants in the centre of Crete, seemingly unimportant, but the see of a bishop and a priests' seminarium. Surrounded by much green and with tall planes shadowing the venetian fountain from the 16th century, the village is a must stop for lots of tourists, as the water has mineral water quality.

Capture on film from 1987. I learned the the fountain's natural stone has been covered with tiles recently.
Scan from paper print.
