Ik kan goed vakwerk ook appreciëren... heet het daarom vakwerk? In ieder geval, goed werk van de bouwers van deze prachtige huizen en prachtig gebracht door de man achter de camera. Goed positie gekozen zodat het uithangbord mooi in de open ruimte hangt. Well done.

Beautiful view of course of these fine half-timbered houses and the fine carved sign of an insurance company ? If you love this architecture, and there are plenty of good reasons to love it, may I suggest you to visit my region Elsass ? Welkom !
What I like in this particular photo is how you detached the sign over the sole blue sky piece, the rest of the frame being (very well) filled by the old houses.

dit uithangbord was wel even mikken om dit los te krijgen van dit lijnenspel van het stukwerk in de blauwe lucht, heldere kleuren zelfs in de shaduws, niet makkelijk in tegenlicht maar je hebt een perfect moment uitgekozen om de digitaal te verschalken.

I tried to guess where this place is without looking at the note, and I failed, thought it was somewhere in Alsace because I remember such houses in Strasbourg. Anyway I realize that the light conditions are difficult when taking houses, but here you managed to have an uniform light and I also appreciate thet the sign has come between the two houses. Very nice presentation of the old half-timbered buildings indeed, Hans. Great shooting position you found to present the medieval "skyline", and I like how you managed to fit both the wrought-iron sign as well as the writing below the roof of the foreground building into the frame. L'on se croirait en Alsace avec ces jolies maisons à colombage pleines de couleurs.
L'angle est judicieux puisqu'il permet de mettre en valeur ces vieilles maisons et cette très vieille enseigne (du moins, je le crois).

You’re right to refer to these houses as beauties! They are really very beautiful in their details and complexity, and this is enhanced by the very good preservation they have. The exposure is great in this one as many details can be seen in the shadows while the sky is perfectly seen. Some correction in the lens distortion, especially in the right part could be a good option.

Mooie foto. Ik zie eigenlijk erg weinig van Duitsland... de laatste tijd is het alleen snel door Duitsland en dan hup door naar Denemarken.

Prachtige huizen hier. En wat zijn ze hoog! Mooie compositie. Prettig blauwe lucht en leuke dat er net wat licht valt op het middelste huis en ook wat op het linker.
