Photographer's Note

The Saint Austremoine church in ISSOIRE (Auvergne) is one of the major roman churches in Auvergne. Built in the XII century it has been highly damaged during the massacre of its monks (1575) & the French Revolution. In 1855 Anatole Dauvergne is in charge of painting the inside of the church. Though the motives are not roman (like the church) it gives you a very good overview on how a church looked like in the middle ages.
