Photographer's Note

Part of the glorious West Front, Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, Alsace, France.

Strasbourg Cathedral is widely considered to be among the finest examples of high, or late, Gothic architecture. Above all, the famous west front, decorated with thousands of figures, is a masterpiece of the Gothic era.

I've shown several photographs taken on student visits that I used to organise, and this was taken on the very first of these. Back then I was teaching (among others) Business Studies students, and ironically, given the UK's recent sad - and probably catastrophic - withdrawal from the EU, we were there to study the European Parliament and institutions...

Early '90s at a guess, and shot on black and white film, processed and printed in my college's darkroom.
