Photographer's Note

When we were in Burgundy last year we stayed in a gîte in the grounds (it was the gate house) of the Chateau de Serrigny (see my other photos of the Chateau in the Serrigny folder). The chateau is in serious disrepair and waiting restoration.
The owner mentioned that there was an old hunting lodge in the grounds so I went for a walk to try to find it. The lodge turned out to be in much worse condition than the chateau. It was overgrown and collapsing in a dense patch of forrest.
As I started back there was a loud crashing through the undergrowth - a large wild boar. Luckily it headed away from me. I was told later that they have been known to charge people. I beat a hasty retreat back to the gîte.
