L’histoire des lavoirs à travers les âges
Lieux exclusivement féminins de travail, les lavoirs étaient aussi des lieux de sociabilité.
On sait d'abord que les lavoirs ne furent que des points d'eau, parfois des pierres sur la rivière. Les femmes pouvaient faire des kilomètres pour laver le linge . Tout change avec l’arrivée d’une loi vers 1851 qui impose à chaque commune de construire un lavoir où l’eau pouvait s’écouler .

Hello Philippe,
In large parts of the world women still do the laundry kneeling for hours on rocks by a river or lake, so this now very old hut represented great progress once upon a time. Now it just looks picturesque and maybe nostalgic. It is situated in a pleasant place where the trees are nicely reflected in the brown water.

Philippe, that wooden hut was used as a laundry in the past. It was a place the women can socialize each other while washing the clothes. It is located on the edge of a pond. Fine green colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, amitié.

This is a delightful photograph, with good notes about the 'lavoirs'.
(I have similar ones in Brittany.)
It is a beautifully composed photograph, with excellent guide lines to the focal wash-house.
The reflections in the water are excellent additional details.

With the invention of the laundry-machines those wooden huts became a place with history, telling about their community gathering places - but progress had changed its heritage altogether.

J'apprécie les reflets sur l'eau. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'ancienne laverie. Une bonne gestion de la lumière intense qui ne nuit pas au rendu des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Maintenant, nous le voyons comme un bel endroit au milieu de la nature, mais il devait être très difficile pour les femmes de marcher avec le poids des vêtements dans ces blanchisseries pour faire le travail.
Des couleurs merveilleuses dans des tons doux, une excellente netteté et une lumière splendide.
