Photographer's Note

Finlands second oldest town Porvoo lies some 50 km east of the capital Helsinki and was founded in the 14th century. The intact old town, consisting of mainly wooden houses is today a UNESCO world heritage site. Along the river Porvoo one can find a fine row of old storehouses and the town is topped with a beautiful old cathedral.
Today Porvoo has roughly 50'000 inhabitants of which some 32% have Swedish as their mother tongue.
Normally taking the train from Helsinki to Punkaharju to visit my wife's family, we had to hire a car this time round as my father in law's over 35 year old Saab 90 wasn't in a driving condition, we used the road trip for a short stop over on the way back.
