Photographer’s Note
This is a scene I spotted while working, after I had given these people their mail I realized that their house looked a bit unusual. The people in the house are "citypeople" who bought this house a year ago, because they think it's charming, I agree that having an open loft room full of hay is very romanticly farm like. As the man explained, house prizes in this part of the country side (as everywhere else in DK) have risen so high it's difficult for new families to buy anything.
Ofcause this was also taken for the scav hunt, a building with no perspective distortion.
as for the title - I have to mention the rainy summer, and trying to dry your clothes outside like this surely states you're a dreamer :o)
PP cropped and converted to sepia.

Mmm same here, mainly because city people move to the country to buy charming cottages. Good note, and yes, the building does have an odd look.

Beautiful and dreamy scene, Line, something from Brothers Grimm tales.

Interesting mood & atmosphere Line; I would be interested to see other angles of this house and its immediate surroundings. I think sepia is a good choice and I like the way the stark white colour of the house peers out from the dark frame formed by the foliage. And Galidana sums it up nicely: straight out of Brothers Grimm!

ps. if i was planning a vacation in Denmark should i bring my sunglasses and swimming-trunks? :|

A house from a fairy-tale ?
Very nice picture, Line, nice details as the clothes-line, the ladder and the sepia gives it an ancient mood.
Great shot !

The wall is really glowing with light in between the dark trees and shadows, nice PP although I find the toning too yellow (looks like p**).
The ladder and laundry draw nice lines in the composition and the black square is a good point for escaping out of the picture.
- sorry I'll switch to danish:
Der _er_ altså perspektivisk forvrængning her, gavlen bliver jo mindre i højre side af billedet fordi vi ser skråt ind på den.
Hvis billedet skal være helt uden perspektivisk forvrængning skal du tage billedet helt vinkelret på væggen både lodret og vandret (og i princippet uendeligt langt fra) så alle lodrette og vandrette linjer er parallelle i billedet.
Såeehh - egentlig passer det ikke helt i huntet.

With your portfolio, Line, I really like that I never know what to expect and that you experiment a lot. This is a fine view of the old house; the window to which the ladder leads looks like a black hole that would swallow anybody who dares to take a peek inside ;-) Nice compo with the dark tree filling most of the empty space around the building, and I like the freshly-hung laundry and your humorous allusion in the title. The sepia treatment definitely gives it a look a couple of decades older than 2004. Well done.

Hi Line, it looks like a fairy tale house, I really like your choice of colour here. The illusion you create with it, because of the dark trees is, very good, you wouldn't have achieved the same result in color. I like the 'at home' look that you created with the laundry.

Yes - Know this problem - hopeful is the rain just "clean water" - I also know the other part - after living in the big town for 20 years I moved back to the countryside where I was born :-)
Very well spotted Line - thanks for your note as well - a fine contribution indeed.

This is really very creative. I love this image, and it almost seems to have some vignetting on the corners which add a lot to the composition. Very nice Line.

Selv om du har haft en lille hånd med i selve kompositionen, så er det et fint lille billede, contrast og sepia tone giver lidt old time look.

Il ike this shot line, the sepia gives a dreamy atmoshpere and th single line of washing reinforce the sleepiness , no - peacefulness of it all.
Nice compo too :)

This is a beautiful picture - see http://www.altphotos.com for more (many more) in this style - I'd just crop down from the top, to a point between the rooftop and the loft window, in order to concentrate attention more on the essential design elements of laundry-ladder-window. You show a strong graphic sense in your work.
