Photographer's Note

This castle, Elsinore, is the physical setting used by Shakespeare in "Hamlet"; the fiction takes place in real places within the castle and the grounds just outside.

The castle was also used as a military fortress during the 16th and 17th century.

Just imagine being a spy, from this POV, hiding behind the rocks in the foreground. Or a viking soldier, ready to attack and take the castle.

Like them, I also needed to lie down on the ground behind these rocks, to frame the pic.

The castle is today known as Kronborg, and it is located near the town of Helsingor.
