Photographer’s Note
Like my earlier shot, this to was taken on the same winter's day.It was eerily quiet. apart from the gushing water and the cry of seagulls.
The bridge you see is the original, built during the Ottoman times- an old beauty.
Dedicated to Keribar whose work has inspired me and countless others. It is good to see that he has decided to visit TE occasionally.

Hi,
I like the melancholy atmosphere caused by B&W and the lonely woman who is looking at the bridge.
Nicely composed.

Hello Klaudio,
Beautiful capture of this famous bridge in the winter. The human presence makes this an even better shot. I think it is the same girl in your recently completed oil painting of the beach scene:))
Thanks for your hospitality in Melbourne.

dear Klaudio,
a beautiful picture of the splendid view,
this arch bridge is so graceful, and this atmosphere of whole old stone village is superb, it is my favorite.
maybe this old stone scene is unchangeable and timeless,

Kako si Klaudio,
Interestingly, the cold of the winter oozes out of the frame. I think its the B&W effect. Anyway, if you post a hundred pictures of the bridge, I'll admire all hundred of them. Does not seem like you can take a bad picture of this place.
Well done and thanks for sharing

Zdravo Dado,
Izgleda divno i tuzno, ali mislim da su to bile najbolje godine.

Hi again, I did compare the previous posts dated 2006 with these old ones, and I must confess that, they rebuilt it and it is good ok, but what I see here is they were not able to put its spirit back. I love these old black and whites, TFS, hope you'll go on sharing them.
Selamlar, sevgiler.

Hello Klaudio,
How interesting to see a picture here of the original bridge, just for a change. Apart from its historical value it's a very well composed photo with the stone wall bending and twisting its way up to the bridge. A small bit of a roof and a lamp keep the sides of the photo together. It's also an excellent scan which has kept the fine nuances of grey.
Best regards,
Gert

Ciao Caro Klaudio, dobro dan. I'm enjoying so much your Balkan Dreaming series. This photo is haunting. The lady walking to the left makes it even more whimsical. I guess there are many memories for you locked up in these photos. They seem full of meaning. Congratulations on a beautifully exposed, well-composed B&W. Capolavoro ed un caro abbraccio, Lisa

Oooogh I like the textures in this old B&W. It really works for me when shooting and old stone bridge. I also like in the inclusion of the single lady in the shot. It's a damn shame that the bridge was detroyed.

Hello Klaudio!
Fantastic balkan atmosphere, perfect capture of this legendary bridge of Mostar, destroying the original one should be considered an unforgiven war crime! Perfect composition, perfect framing, perfect choice of b&w, perfect quality for a scanned image! Reminds me the masterpiece of Ivo Andric, "The bridge on the Drina"! Congratulations for this masterpiece!
