Photographer's Note

Not that many shots of Butrint on TE (25) so here's another. This is the ancient Greek Theatre. There is a boardwalk over the original earthen floor as it is only a few centimetres above high tide level and is often marshy. The ancient Greek name for the city was 'Buthrotum'. It dates from the 4th century BC. It became a Roman protectorate in 228 BC.

Corfu is directly west of the ruins.
